Project Life 2017 Week 44 | A Halloween Layout!!!!
Hello Lovelies, I am so excited to share my Halloween layout from last year with you! I am so very close to finishing this album and only have a few layouts remaining because I finish up in November each year. My layout today is the layout for Halloween, which, if you know me, is a favorite layout every single year! I am using collections from Pebbles: Midnight Haunting; Pink Paislee: Spellcast; and a bit of One Canoe Two Twilight!
Here is a look at the completed layout.
Oh goodness, this layout has my whole heart. Here are the details.
For this week’s layout I chose one story, Halloween. This is an all-time favorite in our house, and this year I am cherishing that everyone still wanted to dress up and go out! It may be the last year they all want to, I don’t take that for granted, and it makes this layout even more special to me!
I wanted to use the Pink Paislee Spellbound collection even though there isn’t much of it still available, and I also added a bit of Pebbles Midnight Haunting to go with it. For my date card I began with that amazing hexagon patterned paper and a banner. The week number was created with Thickers from One Canoe Two.
One challenge when using traditional scrapbook collections is finding places for journaling. I always pull plain white card stock for plain white cards, and add a few lines with stamps. There was a weird cream vibe in these collections, to be sure, but the Spellcast collection also has some white in it, so I have used both in this layout! Gasp!
This year we had a fox, a goddess, a business Narwhal, and a character from Assassin’s Creed. (Our kids do not play that game, but the costume is just that – fun dress-up!) I always love to take their photos in front of the garage on that day. We get dressed a few minutes early so that there is time to take photos and then get on with the fun!
On the left side of the layout my photos were of all four kids together, and on this side I included each person’s photo by themselves. I have always tried, wherever possible, to give each child their moment in the camera lens so they each know how important and cared for they are. It is so much fun every year to embellish their photos!
The spider on Addison’s photo literally did fall out of the package and scared me half to death! Ha! And that is where it landed, so I attached it right there and I love it! I also did another journal card here with plain white card stock and a lined stamp – and I added the circle sticker across the bottom. So very simple and uncomplicated!
I have also added a few of the stars from Pinkfresh Studio The Mix. There were some black ones and orange ones that fit perfectly onto this layout and add the right little touches to my photos. They are awesome!
Thank you for joining me on this scary adventure today! I always love sharing these layouts with you and I hope you feel inspired as well!
~Theresa
