Project Life 2016 Week 43 | ft. Maggie Holmes Gather!
Hi guys, today I am sharing my layout for Week 43 in my 2016 Project Life album! I created the layout in the Project Life App, printed it off at home, and then embellished on top using Maggie Holmes Gather.
My stories for this week included a robotics competition for our daughter Emberlynn and a wonderful afternoon spent with some dear friends from seminary. I had a combination of vertical + horizontal photos for this layout, so I used Design G in the Project Life App.
When you use the Design G layout in the App, it gives you a layout that is 10″x12″, rather than the usual 12″x12″. Of course you can leave them that size, but I decided to add strips of patterned paper on each side, just to experiment and see how it looks!
The strips on each side gave a fantastic home for additional embellishment clusters, and the leaves from the Maggie Holmes Gather collection are perfect. I particularly love how even though we did not have any photos from the robotics competition itself, Alan took these two quick snaps when he dropped her off. Just look at the excitement he captured on her face!
The colors in the Project 52 core kit in the App were perfect for these photos, and the Gather collection carried those colors through as well – the navy, coral, and yellows are warm and happy!
The chocolate muffins are totally random and just happened somewhere in the week, and I love that Project Life provides a home for those random but good memories! I also tried something different with my date card – I used the gold numbers from Gather and drew lines to designate the dates. I don’t know if it works or not, but it was fun to try and I love the pop of gold.
I had the pleasure of sharing lunch with two very dear friends of mine, Dr. Dora Mbuwayesango affectionately known as Dr. Dora (center below), and Andi Shores (right below). We shared classes and experiences and world views in seminary and getting to see them was fantastic!
My friend Andi is now serving as the Executive Director of the Center for Faith and the Arts in Salisbury, NC, and I was so excited to get to visit the Center that day! You can find out more about her organization and the work they are doing in Salisbury here: Faith and the Arts.
What a great week, thank you for following along with me! See you again soon!
