Theresa Moxley October Daily 2021 Days 13 Thru 15

Hi friends and welcome back to my 2021 October Daily! Today I have Days 13 thru 15 for you, and I think you are going to love seeing what I’ve got my up my sleeves for these days. Thank you so much for all your love and kind comments on this project! If you’d like to see more details on how this album is coming together, check out this link: 2021 October Daily.

Day 13 | Boo Masks

We found these great boo masks probably at Michaels and I loved them so much I kept them out int he dining room so we could be silly with them any time. I snapped a photo of myself and Alan trying out the different ones, and wanted to save one to include in the album. This was the perfect idea!

I began with the mask itself and decided to remove the bamboo rod, back it with patterned papers, and attach it to a transparency so it could go into the binder. The transparency is probably from Felicity Jane or Ali Edwards from previous December releases. For my photo, I simply printed a full page photo and added that as its own insert. So when you lift up the transparency, you can see the photo. I kept the eyes of the mask punched so you could also see sneaks of the photo underneath.

The back of the mask is patterned paper along with a cut down journal card from Simple Stories. I added this so I’d have a spot for my journaling. These holographic puffy stickers from Crate Paper Hey Pumpkin were the perfect shiny touch for this page. Did you notice on the front page I used the 31 backwards for the day number? That makes the perfect 13 if you need it.

I kept the photo super simple and only added the Boo To You banner across the top. This was I believe from Simple Stories. And it also needed a little something shiny, so I used some of the tiny puffy dots from Hey Pumpkin in between the letters.

Day 14 | Wicked The Show!

On this day we were so lucky to get to see the show Wicked at the Tanger Center in Greensboro! This was the highlight of the month and I couldn’t wait to document it in the album. At first I thought I would have the witch’s hat as an insert into the album by itself, but check out how it ended up going in here.

I found a great witch’s hat cut file, by FoxSister, which can be purchased here: Witch Design at Silhouette Design Store. Rather than try to figure out how to punch it into the album, I decided to layer it onto a patterned paper, and then also include the playbill inside a pocket page insert from Felicity Jane.

The hat was a great place to add my photo of our venue. No photos were allowed during the show, but the stage was set so amazing it makes for a stunning photo just as it is! Before printing and cutting the hat, I clipped the photo to the hat using a clipping mask in Photoshop. I also blended the top above the lights so you can’t really tell where the photo ends. Sneaky, I know. The polka dot patterned paper is from Crate Paper Hey Pumpkin! and it’s the perfect backdrop for the hat! It contrasts so well. The chipboard piece is the perfect title piece, and I had a bit of space at the bottom for my journaling too.

The pocket is from Felicity Jane, and it fits perfectly into the album as a pocket for the playbill. I added the chipboard witch (Crate Paper) along with the round journaling spot (Simple Stories) and this is the perfect place of course for the day number. I found these little rubber price tag numbers on Etsy a few years ago, and they go great with the vibe of this layout, don’t you think?

Day 15 | Summer’s End

For Day 15 I had a super simple photo I took while waiting in the car line. The sky was so bright with perfect clouds and I was definitely enjoying the pleasant days. My favorite part about summer’s end is how the light changes and the shadows cast differently. So this is a page I created for the Traci Reed Creative Team, using On the Go and Going Slow digital kits. You can see my process here.

For the back of the pocket insert from Day 14, I kept it really simple and summer-to-fall appropriate. I only added a few wood pieces, they are from Colorcast Designs. They contrast beautifully against the black and white plaid. The main photo is another full page photo, but before printing I added a few digital details. In Photoshop, I added all the alphabets to make up the quote, and I also added the embellishments at the bottom. They included a few butterflies, the doily, washi tapes, and stitching.

Then before printing, I made the decision to print the quote on vellum as an overlay for the photo. I also added a few of the selected embellishments to the vellum and printed out those layers together. After printing, I added the wooden number (Colorcast Designs) and the author of this quote. You can see the butterfly and the washi and word strips that are printed on the vellum here.

Then when I was ready to print the photo, I made sure these layers were included: the stitching, the doily, and the black butterfly. That is all I added to the photo to keep it very clean and simple!

That is all for today! Thank you so much for joining me for this fun project adventure. See you again soon.
