Hi friends and welcome to November Light The Path. Today I am delighted to share the prompt previews for our creative project designed to help you document a year of healing. You can learn more about this dynamic workshop here: Light The Path. November is a month of falling leaves and gratitude, and for many of us visible reminders of loss. This month’s theme focuses on Grief and Loss, and in particular how to reframe the future in light of those losses.
Most folks when they hear the term grief and loss, they think of losing loved ones. That is a common experience, but grief and loss can show up in many aspects of our lives. Common experiences of grief can include:
- loss of health or mobility due to illness or chronic conditions.
- loss of relationships, not due to death.
- loss of potential, or what we thought it would be.
- loss of job, income, and ways and means of supporting ourselves.
- loss of faith systems.
- loss of what we thought of the world and/or faith in the powers of the world.
In our rush-rush world, we are often asked to keep moving along without fully validating and processing our losses, and this month in Light The Path is an opportunity to honor those losses. One of the most valuable principles of healing I have learned time and time again is that in order to heal from our emotions, we have to recognize those emotions, validate them, feel those emotions, and sit with them before we can release them. And we will do this over and over again throughout our lives, as we navigate new and different circumstances in light of those former emotions and grief and loss.
Our designer this month is a returning designer Neftali Zambrano! As we process these feelings of loss, Neftali has created a most exquisite collection of cards and elements to help us document what we have learned in this process. Sometimes we don’t learn anything, we just sit with it for a while until we feel better – that’s ok too. Her lovely collection will feel like a soft warm hug for you, with rich colors, soft lines, and spaces to journal.
Grief and loss are something tremendously sacred, and raw and vulnerable. Human emotions are so complex, some days it feels like too much. The practice of working with scissor and papers, pen and tears, can be a cleansing ritual for you. We most of all hope that you come to see how, through all of the losses you have experiences, amazing you are. You showed up, you cared, you nurtured yourself, you survived. You overcame some incredible obstacles, and you touched others in that process. That is something tremendous to be proud of, Light Bearer.
We hope to see you in our workshop! You can join any time, but the last day to receive this kit using the monthly plan is November 15, 2021. There is just one more month in our yearlong workshop! See you there.
