Light The Path Design Team- Akansha Sahgal | May 2021 Things I want to hear

Hey everyone,

I am Akansha Sahgal and I am back with another layout share for Light The Path in the month of May. The prompt for the month was “Things I need to hear” and the kit designed by Allison did full justice to it. I am always a believer of writing down or saving positive quotes or thoughts in some form, so this prompt was really special for me. It gave me an opportunity to sit back and write down the things that would give me positive energy in the tough times.Light The Path Design Team- Akansha Sahgal | May 2021 Things I want to hear

When I was going through the kit my eyes fell on the hexagon boxes and I knew what I wanted to do. I edited the hexagon boxes in the required size and got them printed. Also, I made sure that I get the blank hexagons printed out in good quantity as I wanted to journal my thoughts in them only. After that I went ahead and cut them out and arranged them in a symmetric pattern. I covered 3/4th of my sheet with the hexagon pattern.

Once all the hexagons were pasted I went ahead and wrote down my positive affirmations first. I always journal in the end but this time I knew I’ll be playing with layering at the bottom so to make things easier I did my journalling first. All the things that I wrote down were the ones that I knew will help me in my tough times. It’s always good to have some kind of motivation when things are going rough and when you have your own affirmations in front of you, it makes it even better. Trust me, such small reminders can do wonders when everything fails.

And now time for the fun part!! I got my photo edited and printed in a hexagon shape as well so that it compliments the whole layout. But before adding the photo, I added strips from the kit on the bottom edge and on the blank part as well. Then I added the photo on the bottom center part with foam tape so as to give it some dimension. And then it was time to add some elements around the photo. And how can we not add a date label in my layouts, so I added a bright red label for the date. Also, I cut out the prompt title from the kit and added it near the photo. And few more detailings here and there and the layout was ready.

I hope it inspires you to create something wonderful and write down the “things” that you need to hear. I’ll see you all super soon with some more fun filled and positive layouts.
