Light The Path Design Team- Akansha Sahgal | June 2021 One Beautiful Thing About Yourself
Hey everyone,
I am Akansha Sahgal and I am back with my design team inspiration project for the month of June. Th prompt for this month was so dear to my heart as it was “One beautiful thing about yourself”. This was the perfect prompt to show some self love and praise yourself for the one thing that you like about yourself the most. And the kit for this month by Mandy Ford was filled with such pretty colors. I really loved how bright they were. But this time I had a problem and couldn’t get print outs of the whole kit but just the element sheets.
So it was time to create some fun background on my own. I really liked one of the journal cards that had a paint stroke design on it. So I tried recreating that for my layout using some acrylic paints. Then I went ahead and cut out some flower and other embellishments. This time I decided to glue my photo as a pocket so that I can add my tag with journalling in that. After adding the photo I went ahead and made a cluster of flowers in a vase. Also, I added the “rooted” sentiment on the cluster as it went perfectly with that. I used the sun embellishment as a label to write down the date of the layout.
After that I cut out some other sentiments and inked the edges so that they stand out from the busy background. I added them on the bottom left corner of the layout. All these sentiments were something that I feel very much connected to and I felt that they depict my emotions really well. Also the “I can be myself” tag was just my favorite. It is something that always gives me a reminder to stay true to myself and not care about what people think of me. It reminds me that I have the power to choose how I want to be.
In the end I cut out the tag element from the kit and backed it with card stock. Then I went ahead and did my writing and added it to the photo pocket.
