Light the Path Design Team Akansha Sahgal | January 2021 Where We Are Now
Hi everyone, Akansha here today! It’s the start of the new year and starting it with positivity is all that you need especially after how 2020 went. When I saw the Light The Path January 2021 kit by Neftali Zambrano, the colors and the detailing of the kit brought in all the happy vibes that I needed. All the illustrations are so pretty and can brighten up your day quickly. I decided to go with a plain white sheet as the background since the kit was filled with so many pretty colors.
I started with cutting down a 3*4 floral journal card into half lengthwise to make the strip in the center. After that I used the tag shaped element and the yellow polaroid journal card to place it in the center of the strip. I cut out the center part of the polaroid card and placed my photo in the center.
On the top left corner I decided to place the rainbow illustration and add the light the path title along with the 2021 banner. I made this collage on top to mark the beginning of the new year. I also added the January tag below the tag and the polaroid journal card. I placed everything a little above center from the bottom of the page so that I have enough space to journal below the January tag.
After this, I went ahead and made a cluster of elements on the tag. I used different elements and used foam tape for few of those to give a dimension to the cluster. I loved the element having the three girls with the text “you are beautiful, you are strong, you are healing”. Also I completed the collage with the tag that said “I am ready for”.
I completed the layout with some thoughts that I had. I wrote about where I am and how I want to grow this year. 2020 was definitely a difficult year but it also gave some of the most amazing opportunities and I wrote down about them only. I also added how I want to become even better personally and professionally in 2021.
