Hey ya’ll!!! Today I am working on our kids’ albums, a project to complete albums for each of our four kids to take with them when they have their own homes. This is a dance layout I created for Emberlynn – it is a pocket page created using Felicity Jane kits.
Oh my goodness, you guys, I have had these photos on my desk for quite a while and am so happy to create this layout! Emberlynn took dance for about two years and we were gifted these photos from a friend. So these are the first of the layouts I am working on for Emberlynn’s album! I can’t think of a more fun place to begin (although this isn’t the first in the album itself, just where I began my process)!
When you need products to help with a feminine layout, there is no better source than Felicity Jane! Am I right?!!? The florals, the pinks, all of it come together so lovely. The cards and embellishments I used are from a combination of kits – namely Zoey, Kate, and Summer. I chose these cards for the floral and the pink, coral, and turquoise plus black and white.
My title card is simple and to the point. I began with the floral background and layered a simple white card stock wrapped with washi tape. I then used the black puffy alphabet set to spell my words.
Look at these tiny dancers! Of course the dance photos themselves are dark, so my product choices were geared for light and bright to contrast and balance the layout. Simple embellishments keep the focus on the photos themselves.
I love the 4×6 cards that give an opportunity to play with embellishments, and doilies just make my day.
I have repeated the floral element across the page, along with black and white and stamped elements. Lots of repetition in this lovely layout!
On the right hand side of the layout, more black and white plus pink and coral! I also repeated the dark wood floral embellishments. I feel they tie the photos to the cards.
This was sometime in early 2012, I believe, so Emberlynn was just seven years old. There are also professional photos from her dance years, so when this layout goes in the album her professional photos will go in the album with it. Remember that Becky Higgins sells 8×10 inserts and 5×7 inserts to fit into these albums!
Just another fun filler card here, again with a patterned paper background, floral embellishment, and this time a chipboard frame and stamped sentiment. I also used those tiny little puffy dots, almost like confetti, to ground this card and give it a little more presence.
Thank you so much for joining me today! What a fun and memorable layout, and Emberlynn’s eyes lit up when she saw it. I hope you make time to be creative today too!
