IMP Design Team Ashley Krueger | Self Love Travelers Notebook
Hey friends! It is Ashley and today I am sharing some of my favorite page spreads from the Traveler’s Notebook I made while participating in the 2022 Self Love Project. This whole project was put together using the Neffy Crafts Co. Love You Kit and the Self Love prompts created by Kellie Winnell.
The first spread I am sharing is for the prompts Clothing and Fave. These tags from the Love You die cuts were perfect as they reminded me of tags that were on items of clothing I had recently purchased. The tags were pink and blue but I wanted a little more variation. After printing the original colors, I took one set and changed them to greyscale to get the third color. Then I just alternated the colors down the edge of the page. My journaling and photo are on card I created. The word art was a free printable from Humble and Create.
For fave, I used one of my favorite photos of me and my favorite person. The base of the page is one of 4×6 cards enlarged and cropped to fit the notebook dimensions. Over top, I used an enlarged cluster of hearts from a 3×4 card. When I cut it out, I left extra space on the right hand edge to create the hinge. I used a label from the kit as an embellishment and added my journaling to the back of the heart cluster. The kit also comes with this heart cluster as a cut file that would be amazing used in a similar way if you have a cutting machine. There is a multicolor die cut in the kit as well. That was used on the outer cover of my notebook.
Next, is the spread for the prompts 3 Things and Reflect. For the 3 Things page, I started with another journal card in the kit. It had the red semi circle at the bottom. Before printing, I added two more circles in coordinating colors, as well as title banner and word art. Then I wrote out my three things.
I used the Reflect prompt as a place to use one of Meg’s Challenges from the IMP Life Stories class. She created the cutest printables for documenting Where I Stand/5 Senses. I loved the printables but they are from the IMP Life Stories Kit and didn’t quite match the colors for the Love You kit so I used it as a template to make my own paper. You can see a better look at how I did this in the process video below. After getting all the hexagons in place, I used some of the digital die cuts to embellish.
To finish this spread, I added another flip out. I share a Where I Stand Wednesday photo on social media most weeks. I used the photo from that post on my card template and added the Reflect word art and a digital stamp. I backed that with a photo that I added a label from the Love You kit and the date onto before printing.
Lastly, I wanted to share how I documented my Do Less and Do More prompts. To me, they felt like different sides of the same story and I wanted to document them that way. My initial thought would be telling that across both pages of a single spread. However, the way notebook came together, the prompts ended up sharing a page instead of being on the same spread.
As I was going through the cards for a previous spread, I saw the 4×6 journal card from the Love You kit with all the labels on it. It gave me the idea to trim the notebook page and use the labels to tell the story. I printed two copies of the journal card and cut out the labels. I laid out one set of the labels on the front then backed each label with the same color from the second set. Then I journaled each thing that I want less of on the front and on the back added a related thing I want more of.
I had so much fun working on this project and using Neffy CraftsCo’s Love You kit. Her color palettes are always so unique and vibrant. Bright and bold are not what I tend to use but I feel so drawn to her products. I love how they inspire to me to branch out and try new things!!
