Hello Lovelies and welcome back to my Summer Travel Mini Series! Today I am sharing the last process video from this series and there will be one more video where I will share a walk through of these layouts in the album itself! I hope you will subscribe to my newsletter to find out what next month’s exciting theme will be! Of course if you are new here, or if you have missed pieces of this fun travel series, be sure to visit this link to get caught up: Summer Travel Mini Series.
During the last week of May this year we traveled to the Outer Banks of NC, namely Kitty Hawk, Duck, and Nags Head areas. You can view my full process for this layout here:
Let’s have a closer look at this layout! This was of course a photo heavy layout and I really wanted the ocean and beautiful skies to be the stars of the page. I chose Maggie Holmes Sunny Days collection from Crate Paper to help add pretty things to my layout.
Beginning with the first 4×6 card, which is typically my day card, I used the circle patterned paper as my background. This patterned paper became sort of the starting point for my colors in the layout: the blues, yellows, and pinks are perfect for beach photos. I added the number 22 from the cut apart specialty sheet and added the Outer Banks using the gold glitter alphabets. The filler card underneath is not embellished at all, and stands alone just as it is.
I took a selfie while we were lounging under our umbrella and made sure to include myself in this layout. I added sunglasses from the sticker sheet and a simple word sticker to that photo. The boys spent a bit of time digging in the sand just for fun, so I snapped their photo as well and added the word sticker to that photo as well.
This little lady on the float is one of my favorite elements in this collection, so I placed her in the upper corner of the photo of our girls, and added a word strip. It’s so cute! Another of my favorites is this navy card with pink floral. I trimmed it down to fit in the 3×4 pocket and just love having it there. One thing I thought would be fun is to have elements in the pockets that are smaller than the pocket, so I left this journaling spot just as it is. We will see later on in this album how I handle the back!
No beach trip is complete without a photo of feet in the sand! The only thing I did to that photo was add a circle embellishment using my Tiny Attacher.
The right hand side of the layout carries the same colors throughout. Along with blues, pinks and yellows there was also a bit of orange in this collection so I have included that too, just for fun
The sky was stunning on this day, so I have featured it in this photo and added the transparent word on top. I also added a word strip from the sticker pack beneath. So so pretty.
The coral card and the Let’s Go tag are left untouched, but I needed a bit more space for journaling. I cut up this mint paper below so I had lines plus a bit of word art. Of course, once I cut what I wanted it wasn’t quite big enough for a 4×6 pocket, so I layered it on top of the orange paper. That paper is also an easy favorite in the collection! Pick your favorites to use first!
For one more journaling card I layered this piece from the cut apart sheet that also had lines. I layered it over the pink and white polka dot paper and again stapled the elements together. I mentioned in the process video that I never actually used any adhesive tape runner, just the Tiny Attacher on this layout!
One final photo of the kids together. Some of them did not seem interested in photographs today so I just took this one of them observing waves. The water was under a severe rip tide warning that weekend so no one really got in the water. They still hung out in the surf and found seashells. I love capturing them all together.
Thank you so much for joining me today! See you again soon!
