Art Journal With Me Vol 06 | Your Light Still Shines
Hello Lovelies, today is Art Journal With Me! Grab your favorite supplies and let’s make something pretty and affirming. Art journaling is an important part of healing because it allows us to express ourselves in any kind of mood or feeling. Over the last few weeks we have witnessed so many challenges and dark moments in history, so I felt like I needed a bit of watercolor today. Follow along with me to see how this page came about. If you’d like to see more of this series, follow this link: Art Journal With Me.
Recently I have been working in a traveler’s notebook from Prima Marketing, so I am continuing in this little passport size pretty. I purchased this floral background stamp from American Crafts, it’s available at Joann’s right now. This stamp is a great opportunity to play around with watercolors, especially if you want to linger a while in your process.
Do you ever have days like that? Where you just know you want to spend a while pushing paint onto the page, letting it go wherever it goes. These Kuretake paints are perfect for days like this. I have used them all over the background, making different flowers different colors. I let the paints run into each other, putting down paint and lifting it back up over and over again.
Even though we have seen some of the worst in recent weeks and months, I know that the light still shines through each of us, and that is the hope we must tap into. I decided to stamp that onto my page, using some fun little wood stamps from One Canoe Two.
The stamping didn’t come out quite as I expected, but that left a little corner on the left side to put a sticker and the date. Stickers are from Studio Calico. I hope you are inspired to art journal today, and I hope you can see the light within yourself. See you again soon!
