Art Journal With Me | Step Into Daylight ft Journals For Life Unity

Hi everyone and welcome back! Today is Wednesday, which means it is the day for Art Journal With Me. I am continuing to work in my hand made notebook this week, creating an affirmation page using a beautiful travelers notebook collection called Unity from Journals For Life. If you’d like to see more layouts from this notebook, check out this link: Art Journals and Mixed Media.

I was heavily inspired by music for this page, namely Daylight by Taylor Swift from her Lover album. I have been listening to this song on repeat for days now, and decided to create an affirmation page to write down these words that she says at the end. I also received the Unity collection from Journals For Life recently and thought they would go beautifully over my background page. There were lots of greens in the background and the collection, so we are going to build on top of that.

The right hand side I left as is, but for the left side I layered one of the pages from the Unity collection right over top of my background paper. I liked the brush strokes on this paper because it allowed me to stamp my title, while leaving space for some pretty embellishments. The alphabet stamps are from Hero Arts. I went looking and it seems that alphabet set isn’t available any more. There were four brush strokes and my title only needed three, so I used the navy stroke for an embellishment cluster plus my date stamp. That made for a really easy composition!

For the right hand side, I used the green paper as my background, and then layered two embellishment clusters on top. I left space in the center for my journaling, which was going to be the words from Taylor Swift’s song. My favorite die cuts from the kit were most definitely the lovely ladies and the rainbows. I also used the Unity stamp to add a few details directly to the background. I stamped some of the branches that peek out from behind the die cuts, and also stamped Make Your Own Magic.

What a fun page to make! I hope you are inspired to create something that makes you feel good today! Thanks for joining me, see you back here again soon.
