Affirmation Pages In A Travelers Notebook | Breathe In Ft. Heidi Swapp

Hi friends and welcome back to the blog! Today I am sharing a layout in my traveler’s notebook that really is more of an affirmation page. I haven’t shared one of these in a while, but I still use these kind of pages as meditation/self care practice. I invite you to play along with me. If you’d like to see other similar pages I have done in the past, check out this link: Affirmation Pages. You can follow along with my process video here:

I began this process in my handmade notebook that I created from papers designed by AB Studio. They already have a watercolor relaxed sort of feel that made it super easy to build Heidi Swapp Carefree elements directly on top. I layered strips of washi tape across the page, creating sort of two columns, one on each side. This establishes the design of the page, and then any other stamping, titles, and word strips can be built on top or around that washi tape base. This is a go-to method for creating beautiful layouts in your traveler’s notebooks and art journals, that you can repeat over and over again!

Once all the washi is in place, I found I had a great backdrop for my title and other pretty elements that expressed the meditation in my mind. My stamped title reminded me to breathe in, breathe out, and while you do that, simply listen to the silence. The soft sound of your even breath calms, while hands are busy with paper + adhesive. I also used those gorgeous vellum branches for just a bit of bling.

Once I finished stamping, I then also added florals with word strips, and a secondary title on the left hand side. Again I created a simple floral cluster with the die cut flower, the vellum branch, and the Dream Big word strip. Of course the page needed a rainbow! I also stamped my date using the Becky Higgins roller date stamp.

I hope you have a chance to do meditative art today! Thank you for joining me on today’s process, this has been awesome! See you again soon.
