TBT Project Life 2014 Week 23 | Dear Lizzy Fine & Dandy!!!
Hi guys!!! It is Week 23 in my 2014 Project Life album today! The house construction is beginning to wind down, just a few more layouts like this and then I will be returning to traditional Project Life layouts for the rest of the year. Here is my process video today:
This is the layout as I began, with photos and journaling cards in place:
There was a 6×12 insert this week, so this is Side A:

So there was quite a bit going on this week in addition to the construction. One thing I love about Project Life is that it allows you to include stories from all around the week. An album that was strictly about the house construction might not show our lives going on in the meantime, but here I can do that. The house itself on this side of the layout is just one single photo. That is all I photographed on that day, so I really can’t even tell what was done on that day. No worries, include the photo and move on, right?
I still love using these circle dates from Paislee Press, but this one I layered on top of the gold rimmed tag from Dear Lizzy. On all of them across the page I included the white number lower down on top of the photo for consistency.
My date card here looks a little rough. I had some technical issues with the stamp itself because it does not ink all the way on the inside of the stamp. I also know that I forgot to add the dates of the week! When I create my layout next week I will probably end up fixing both those things.
I absolutely love mixing the product from the collection with the cards from the Core Kits! This is one of the reasons I love Project Life so much – it allows me to continue using my stash and to stretch my stash even further.
The two photos on the bottom of the layout are from my son’s birthday on June 4th. This is part of the balance of Project Life which I love – yes our house is being built, but yes, we are still doing all of our normal life things.
I think in my last TBT process video I discovered the fun of placing stickers up the side of a photo just like the hearts in the Periscope app. I am totally using that technique more often now, and here I used stars.
Now if you watched the process video, you heard me realize right in the middle of my voice-over that this was actually Nick’s 10th birthday! So many mistakes in this layout, and I just have to laugh at myself because I really forgot for a minute that I was working in 2014. I will fix this later on as well. I normally let one or two mistakes go, but since there are a few on here that are bugging me I will fix them.
This is the insert, which tells the story of the driveway and back patio being poured.
We did not go inside the house that day, in order to make sure that nobody accidentally walked on the concrete.
I love this banner across the bottom, and I added a tab sticker and punch so you would know to turn the insert.
The second page starts with Nick’s baseball game, last one for that season. I did no embellishing, just a bit of journaling.
For the title card on the right hand side I used one of the cards from the Core Kit and layered on a chipboard sticker and one of the house die cuts.
The circle date again, and I love how those circles unify this whole layout.
These two filler cards were fairly easy to put together. I really love the black and white elements in the Fine & Dandy collection, so I made use of them!
And then there is this photo right here. These end up being my favorites, of course, ones where they are excited and hugging on each other. They are bonding with the spaces we are creating and these spaces will become the backdrop of their best memories, we hope!
My journaling is here, and I covered the banner that was on the card with this gold one, just to repeat the gold elements on the spread.
These are the last two cards on this layout. One is for more journaling and the other I just left blank.
