Project Life 2017 Week 14 Embellishing the Hybrid Layout!!!!
Hi guys! Today I have my digital layout printed out from my 2017 Project Life album week 14, and now we are going to add just a few tiny embellishments and hand written journaling! I adore this part – feeling the textures in my hand and cutting and pasting all the pretty things.
Here is a look at the completed layout! I am so excited about how it turned out!

I began my process with the date card, simply adding the week number and two printed digital elements. I added the dates using a roller date stamp. All the digital elements are from On A Whimsical Adventure, the alphabet is from Amy Tangerine, and the roller stamp is from Target a few years ago.

In the beginning of the year, when I was starting my 2017 album, I was thinking that I really wanted to use patterned papers as the backgrounds on my layouts. But using the white background this week is particularly appealing to me! The layout turned out so crisp and clean, uncluttered even though there is a lot going on.

One of my favorite things about this week’s layout was definitely being able to use photos from Addison that he took on his trip to Washington DC! The two 3×4 photos are his, and the large photo of the whole class is from the school’s Twitter account.

To continue the uncluttered look, I really kept embellishing to a minimum. Just one tiny element per photo across the layout. I know, I know, we have such a tendency to want to use ALL THE THINGS (!!!!!) but resist that temptation sometimes. You will love the result!

Another favorite element in this layout is this stunning sunset over our house. The colors in the sky are so pretty, and I definitely repeated those colors in the embellishments as well. Wood embellishments are all from Gossamer Blue, and puffy hearts are Elle’s Studio.

This was most definitely a fun layout to create, from the process in Photoshop of layering photos plus digital elements, and then adding just the simplest embellishments to the printed layout! So much fun!

See you back here again soon!
