Hi guys, so over the weekend I participated in a local wedding show! This was a gathering of local artists, vendors, and creatives designed for the wedding market. It was awesome! This is my first trade show ever, and I have been preparing for a while. This also has helped me to further define my own business direction, and I am so excited about this! First, some photos from the show!
I set up my table using a few vintage pieces from my own collection. The white table is my primary work surface where I actually create my videos! The turquoise side table is one of my mother’s pieces from Lane which is actually now a true vintage piece from the early 90’s.
These are my glittered animals, right now just the elephants are on my Etsy shop but I hope to get the rest added later this week. They sparkled in the sun! Notice I used Project Life cards to create my pricing signs and they look fantastic!
I brought some examples of scrapbooks I have made, and this is one that is ready for a client’s photos. I used Basic Grey to cover the pages of a chipboard album – perfect!
I created a banner for my shop name, Larkindesign, and then my husband and I built the backdrop to hang it on. I used canvas drop cloths to sew the fabric panels. I also hung a few of our photos on the backdrop as well. Our wedding invitations are featured because my hope is to be able to offer personalized announcements as well. You can also see our wedding album on display. More on that album will be forthcoming, but I will give you a hint that that album will be featured in a class I am working on right now!
And look, it’s me! This was just prior to going live. We had so much fun and it was really awesome to be able to talk with customers and also to meet the other vendors at the show. It was a ton of work, but I have to say it was worth every bit of it.
The really awesome thing that came out of this is a sense of direction where I want to take my brand. While I don’t plan to make the blog all about weddings, or wedding albums, taking that focus will help me access a portion of the market that can help sell products and generate income. And of course scrapbooking and memory keeping is not just for weddings, but for every day! That will always be priority to me as I continue to document my life and our family’s life. Thanks so much for being part of this journey and for supporting me along the way!
See you tomorrow!
