This layout is a somewhat special one, as I document some of the wedding preparations for our wedding in September of 2012. Even though these specific events will be featured in the wedding album I wanted to include them in the context of our whole year. Also, since details are lost from the years gone by, this layout is again representative.
I chose to use a digital kit from The Lilypad for this layout, it is the September Memory Pockets Monthly kit called Observations and it is perfect for telling this week’s stories!
My date card came together so easily: always in the upper left corner, I used some Felicity Jane alphas for the week and my Heidi Swapp date stamp for the actual dates. The washi tape and transparent doily are Freckled Fawn.
I don’t really know why I took this little snap of Natalie playing her iPod, but apparently she had gone to Krispy Kreme for a thing at school, and she wore the little hat for days. She is so adorable.
This photo here is of the shelter at the church we were attending at that time. This shelter needed a little love, but we had the plans and had been working on decor and all kinds of things for the wedding. This is the perfect place to include this photo!
Alan also celebrated his 42nd birthday. The photos I had were all vertical, so I borrowed a template from Paislee Press, the Pocket Guides, to add them to the same photo. I love this simple documenting style.
Two really big things happening on the wedding scene: the final fitting for my wedding dress and a wedding shower thrown for me by a few of our best friends. These photos are all taken by my photographer, and I have to admit they were in a different folder on my archive. For this layout I knew I wanted to include Alan’s birthday, and it seemed perfect to add these two events on this side to complete the layout.
I repeated the gold alphas here on the right hand side, and notice again how I have balanced out the colors in the journal card, repeating the pinks and greys on both sides.
This lovely lady gets her own layout in our wedding album, but she also needed a spot here as well. This was our pastor’s wife, and she alters wedding dresses. So she altered mine, and this was the final fitting. Yes, that is me standing in my dress! I am so happy to include these details in this album.
Thank you for joining me today! See you back here for Lesson 07.
