How To Create A Layout With No Photos Or Words!

 

Hello Lovelies! Today I have such a special project to share with you that I think you are really going to love! We are going to scrapbook without photos or words! This is such a unique approach to scrapbooking and surprisingly was not difficult. And I love the outcome. Follow along with my process video here.

I hear this question in our community sometimes: How can I tell a story when I don’t have any photos? And another: How can I create a page when I don’t know what words to say? This kind of scrapbooking is a great answer. The idea here is to REPRESENT. Choose papers, elements, die cuts, stickers, chipboard pieces, and word stickers that represent your experience and tell the story through those. My story today was about who I was as a little girl. Even though I do have photos from my childhood, I really wanted just to re-imagine myself apart from those photos in a positive and fun way!

 

 

I will be putting this layout in my Light The Path album, which is 6×8, so I cut down my base paper to 7×8.25. The paper I am using is from Paige Evans Pick Me Up collection. I chose it for the artistic brush strokes and also because it seems to reflect the colors in the embellishments I have chosen.

 

 

Creating this layout was actually really simple. I went through my chipboard collection and pulled pieces that I thought represented my childhood. I wanted this layout to reflect who I was growing up, and these pieces remind me of some of my favorite things from way back then! I then adhered these items going from bottom left to top right, just fitting them together like a puzzle. I also  added my initials: TR, plus a few labels with a word stamp. The tiny gold hearts and the alphabets are from Maggie Holmes Shine.

 

 

I also added the little circle word art that says You Are Some Kind of Wonderful, and a few other word stickers to remind me of my hopes and dreams at that time. So tell me what do you think?
