Hello Lovelies, today is Wednesday and that means it is time to Art Journal With Me! Today we are creating affirmations in our journal using cut up papers. If you’d like to see all the art journal layouts I have shared in this series, follow this link here: Art Journal/Mixed Media.
First, gather supplies. I have chosen two patterned papers from Paige Evans Bloom Street collection. I was inspired by the text on this paper, because they serve wonderfully as affirmations for this page. They also are very horizontal, as is the green chevron style paper, so I already have conceptualized in my brain that these two can compliment each other well.
I cut strips, selecting the words I wanted to feature on my page. For now I just cut rows, but once we are ready to adhere them it will come together how they should be placed.
I wanted a bit of color and texture on my background, so I added washi tape from Studio Calico on the edges and gutter. Layer the modeling paste using your stencil. This one is from DecoArt. Lay out on your page how you want your strips to line up. I alternated direction of the arrows, and notice how visually they point to the words I wanted to remember.
Adhere everything down, and your page is done!
Thanks so much for joining me today! I would love to see your pages, so go make something today and share with me! Tag #lightthepath or #larkindesigntm. See you again soon!
